Clipping Curves

Choose from 7 different clipping algorithms:
CurveCharacter
NoneBypass (no clipping)
HardClassic digital clipping, aggressive
CubicSmooth soft clip, classic algorithm
Hyperbolic TanVery smooth, musical saturation
QuinticGentle saturation, subtle
AlgebraicAsymptotic approach to limits
ArctangentWarm, tube-like character

Signal Chain Position

Audio Source → Track Processing → M/S Processor → Clipper → Main Mixer
The clipper sits after all other track processing, giving you:
  • Safety net — catch peaks before they hit the master bus
  • Tonal shaping — add subtle saturation or aggressive clipping as a creative effect
  • Consistency — always available, no plugin loading required

Use Cases

Peak Control

Set the clipper to a soft curve (Hyperbolic Tan or Cubic) to tame transients without drastically changing the sound.

Creative Saturation

Use harder clipping curves to add grit and edge to drums, bass, or synths.

Gain Staging

Push levels into the clipper intentionally to achieve louder perceived volume while keeping peaks under control.
